Made from press formed wood with bakelite much like the WW2 tropical canteens. These stakes are still a question for some collectors. They are commonly known as post war stakes but there is a decent number of collectors that recognize them as war time DAK or sandy soil stakes. I know that the NVA used these but a lot of NVA items were actually WW2 surplus. These have no markings on them at all.
These look pretty much unissued but some do have small chips most likely from storage.
