Our dye kit might be a little more expensive but there is a reason. We are selling the Pro-Dye where most are selling the basic Dye. The Pro-Dye penetrates the leather better and creates a more uniform finish. We found the regular Dye to be more steaky and really wasn't appealing to the eye
Directions to Dye Boots:
1. Try the boots on and make sure they fit after you dye them there are no returns
2. Find a well-ventilated area and gather materials. (Area such as the garage or driveway)
- Rubber gloves.
- Something to cover your work area such as a piece of plastic or a black contractors style trash bag.
- Dye with dobbers
- A few cloth rags
3. Using the daubers that are provided stain the boots. Do not dye the inside of the boots just the outside. Also do not press to hard on the stitching areas as the dye can blead thru
4. Let the boots dry for a few hours. If you want to be safe, leave them over night. They need to be completely dry before the Leather Balm is applied.
5. Apply the Leather Balm. This is best done with a rag which allows you to work the balm into the boot. You do not need to use a ton of this one coat is good enough it's simply just to keep the dye from rubbing off onto other things it may touch.
6. Let the boots completely dry again leaving them over night is best.
7. Your done, now you can oil or waterproof them as you choose.
