      New Reproduction WW2 German Folding E-Tool. These are actually a fairly nice and sturdy reproduction. The spade is made of a nice thick guage steel and fitted with a sturdy wood handle just like the originals. We take them and give the wood a coat of linseed oil to darken them a little. The spades are painted black which is period correct, originals were either painted or blued steel. Just to be clear the bluing on originals was not actually bluing it is actually from the hardening process but it appears like it has been blued. 

      These are a nice sturdy pieces and are definitely built to last a long time, they will make a great piece for any reenacting kit or even a display.

      When compaired to an original there are two main differences. 
      1. The nut that tightens the shovel while its open or folded is painted steel originals were Bakelite.
      2. There is a washer between the nut and the spade which was never there on originals but I do have to say it does make it much smoother to tighten the nut.

      Warning: The Paint is not perfect on these it can have some chips in it or some bubbling.
