Reproduction 1939 Knights Cross of The Iron Cross with Oak Leaves Swords and Diamonds with Gold Finish.

The Knights Cross was Reintroduced in 1939 by Adolf Hitler, the crown and "W" emblems of the previous WWI issue were replaced with the swastika. This is a fine quality die-struck medal marked 800 and makers mark L/12.

Instituted on December 29th 1944 this was to be the highest variant of the Knight's Cross. This award was originally intended to be for 12 of the most distinguished men enlisted in the German Armed Forces. However only 6 of these were ever made and only 1 was presented to Hans-Ulrich Rudel the other 5 were confiscated by the US government.
