This is a superb replica of the Bronze Panzer Assault badge. Dye-struck with "HA" Maker Mark standing for the firm of Hermann Aurich.
The Tank Combat Badge was established on December 20, 1939 by the Army commander-in-chief. The badge was awarded to officers, NCO's and enlisted men attached to rifle regiments, rifle battalions of tank divisions and tank reconnaissance units that that have since January 1, 1940 served as one of the following.
-Tank commander
-Tank drive
-Tank gunner
-Tank radioman
with a minimum of three tank engagements on three different days.
