The Military Merit Order medals were among Bavaria’s highest awards for
bravery, and ranked only below the Military Order of Max Joseph. These
are the 2nd class version of the Militär-Verdienstorden which was
bestowed on officers and higher-ranking officials. The swords denoted
wartime issue.
These awards are die-struck and finished with a gold plating and blue enamel. The back features a vertical wide pin for fitting on a tunic. These are
beautifully crafted medals with a high level of detail.
